dc.description.abstract The contemporary Christian church in Zimbabwe is at crossroads owing to the political, economic and social crises that have affected the country for the past decade. Using the Zion Christian Church (ZCC) as a case study, the study examines the experiences of the church and its role in the reconstruction of the country as part of its historical divine mandate. It studies the experiences and contributions of the ZCC in Masvingo Province. The study argues that Christian churches in general and the ZCC in particular can forge an African identity as a sine qua non for a vibrant and harmonious society. It is our conviction that churches, as key stakeholders in the search for a new dispensation, have the potential to brave the challenges bedevilling Zimbabwe en_US
