dc.description.abstractThe study sort to assess the nature of benefits derived from support groups of people living with HIV and AIDS in Masvingo Province .A survey was conducted with 300 support group members .Cluster sampling was used to select participants from Gutu, Zaka,Bikita, Chivi and Masvingo districts of Masvingo Province .A questionnaire was used to collect data which were analysed using Stata Version 11.The study revealed that members benefited from support groups by realising improved livelihoods,increased incomes and changed reception from their communities .However these benefits were being derived more by the most active members of the groups ,who were mostly female. Recommendations were made.en_US
