Department of Human Resource Management [0]
The Department recognizes the strategic importance of human capital in business and remains focused to this end. The Department houses the following pragrammes, viz: Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Human Resource Management, Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Industrial Relations, Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Politics and Public Administration and the Master of Science Degree in Human Resource Management. These programmes are meant to equip students with the knowledge, capabilities and abilities needed to drive both private and public institutions in Zimbabwe and world over.
Department of Psychology [25]
he Psychology Department offers five programmes, which are Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Psychology, Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Counselling, Bachelor of Science Special Honours Degree in Psychology, Master of Science Degree in Counselling Psychology and Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Psychology. The department strives to offer Afrocentric counselling and psychology. In that regard, the lecturers and students are constantly engaging in research activities that endeavor to address mental health issues from an African perspective.
Department of Rural and Urban Development [20]
The Rural and Urban Development Department offers three programmes, which are Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Urban Planning and Development, Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Rural Development, Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Local Governance Studies and Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Rural and Urban Development. The department strives to equip students with technical skills in rural, urban planning and development through Geographic Information Systems & Remote Sensing, Auto Card, a process concerned with the designing, development and use of land and environmental protection for public welfare
Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology [7]
The Department offers five pragrammes, which are, Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Sociology, Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Social Anthropology, Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Peace, Conflict and Governance, Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Social Ecology, the multidisciplinary Master of Science Degree in Demography and Population Studies as well as Doctor of Philosophy degrees in the above subject areas.
Nehanda Centre For Gender And Cultural Studies [27]
The Centre was established in January 2015 under the Julius Nyerere School of Social Sciences. As a proponent for gender justice, the Centre strives to be a global centre of excellence in Gender and Cultural Studies. The Centre is anchored on the core values of Ubuntu/Hunhu (which means upholding human dignity), inclusiveness, innovation and creativity. This is in line with the University niche of restoration and preservation of culture. The Centre endeavours to transform unequal gender relations that are prevalent in society today. Both males and females are empowered with knowledge and skills they utilize in social transformation. The Nehanda Centre puts emphasis on five key pillars which are; Undergraduate and Postgraduate Studies; Research and Policy Advocacy; Training and Community Engagement; Knowledge Management; and Business Development.
