Abstract: The research investigated on the significance of Corporate, Social Responsibility (CSR) to Rural Development. The aim of the study was to examine whether Zimplats has managed to address the social problems in Ngezi, ward 11, through the initiation of social programmes and projects. The study used both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to collect information and stratified random sampling was used to select respondents in ward 11. It was clear from the data gathered that the community has benefited from the Zimplats projects. The projects include drilling of boreholes, road construction, agro-industrial projects as well as the establishment of the Ngezi Shopping Centre. The researcher recommends that there should be government regulations to govern CSR especially in Rural Development, organisations should undertake their CSR programmes on a household level.
