Abstract: Rural entrepreneurship development in Zimbabwe has been largely constrained by lack of external financing. This paper sought to investigate the strategies that Zimbabwean rural entrepreneurs are employing to finance their activities and how these strategies conform to those propounded in existing literature. The research design employed was largely descriptive survey in nature. Questionnaires were hand delivered and collected and the results were statistically analyzed using specialized computer packages and the results from the study show that the entrepreneurs employ numerous strategies that largely conform to existing literature with however, a few unlike strategies. Rural entrepreneurship in Zimbabwe has not yet fully developed and is still largely constrained.
